Adoption of Nicole

We got great news Monday! The adoption of Nicole by Chris should be finalized on March 18Th. Yes that is Nicole's birthday. It is so weird how it worked out. The the court date was set for her birthday. No we did not plan it that way. For those of you who don't know we filed over a year and half ago and have had a huge fight from her biological father. We have had to hire 3 different attorneys. One because he wanted his visitation rights back. Ha after 9 years of no contact how could he even try that one. Another attorney was for Nicole called a guardian ad litem. He was there just to speak for Nicole because she was under 14. And the last one was an adoption attorney, she is the one who was representing Chris and trying to terminate his parental rights. Well guess what....after all of the problems he caused he decided about 8 weeks ago he was no longer going to fight us. Well it has taken us this long for him to do the things that he needed to do to relinquish his rights which is not done yet but is set for Thursday at 1:15! So after that all is done all we have to do is go in front of the Judge to finalize the adoption which the date happened to be on Nicole's Birthday. How cool is that, it all worked out in the end! So we go in on Tuesday to make it official. I will post pictures assuming that I am able to(not in the hospital).
